I’m a senior portrait photographer based at UCSC, and I’m all about creating a space where you can truly express yourself. Every person has a unique story to tell, and I’m so thrilled to help you share yours! Let’s work together so you can get the picture-perfect senior portraits of your dreams :D

behind the camera
You might be thinking, “But Sam, you’re studying Politics and Biotechnology—what do you know about photography?!” To which I’d respond, “Excellent question, random person!” And then I’d take a few minutes to brag about all the hobbies I’ve become completely addicted to over the years, with photography being one of the most rewarding. Take a quick second to scroll and see what else I get up to behind the camera ;)
Theatre & Improv
_JPG.jpg)

I've been doing theatre since I starred in my third-grade play, Geology Rocks. You could say I hit the bigs young. Yeah no, but actually, I've been doing theatre and improv for a while and was president of my high schools theatre troupe! I've played characters like Sebastian from The Little Mermaid, Enid Hoopes from Legally Blonde, and Nick Bottom from A MIdsummer Night's Dream. I'm also on two of UCSC's improv teams; Questionable Encounters (QE) and Someone Always Dies (SAD).

crochet
I started crocheting during the pandemic and honestly, it was rough at first, but as soon as I got the hang of it, I was pretty addicted. I used to sit on my bed and crochet under the camera during my online classes (which I think was the only reason I actually survived those Zoom meetings). Crocheting is one of my favorite ways to give personalized gifts to people, and if we're friends, you've probably received some sort of crocheted plushie for your birthday or a holiday.

ceramics
My dad and I did ceramics when I was younger, but I started up again in my senior year of high school. Cool fun fact: My mom and I went to the same high school and both learned ceramics in the same exact studio! Pottery is another way I love making personalized gifts for friends and family. During my senior year, I was even able to make 70 individual pins for my graduating science cohort (called BTI) I was a part of (though I'm pretty sure I spent more hours in that stuffy studio than on any other part of campus that year).

event photography
This might come as no surprise, but I also do event photography! I'm currently working as a student photographer for UCSC and I take a lot of photos that go on university instagram pages, websites, and are used in other promotional ways! I love this job endlessly, and I've been able to meet a TON of cool people that are doing really amazing things around campus. If you see my around, say hi!!
