Outfits are key to setting the tone of your senior photos! If you're unsure about your look or just don't know where to start, take a quick look below to get some quick tips before your shoot!

Makeup/hair

Test your makeup a few days before your session in a natural light because it can look different in photos. A subtle look (like lighter eyeshadow and blush) should be a bit more pronounced to show up clearly. Stick with a hairstyle you’re comfortable with—now isn't the time for crazy experimenting! But of course, you still wanna dress up, so pick a hairstyle you'd wear to a nice wedding!

shoes

If you’re planning on wearing heels, make sure to bring a pair of flip-flops or comfortable shoes for walking around campus. We’ll be moving around quite a bit, so it’s important to have something that’s easy on your feet when we’re not shooting. Most photos I take won't include your shoes, but if that's an important item you want to showcase, let me know, and we'll make sure we get tons of detail shots with your kicks ;)

clothes

You should keep it simple with light, neutral colors to contrast with your darker graduation stole! I'd avoid patterns like plaid, polka dots, and stripes, as well as any bold imagery. If you want to incorporate bolder colors, feel free to make it your second outfit if the session allows. Remember to iron or steam your clothes beforehand to avoid any wrinkles in your photos, this is a CRUCIAL step!!

Things to keep in mind day of!

It's okay to keep it simple! I know it's tempting to dress up SUPER extra for your special day, but I promise a simple white dress is going to make you shine the best. The main subject should be you — not your clothes, (and that's okay)!

I know we’re going to walk a lot, but please leave your Fitbit or Apple Watch at home! If you ARE a fitbit warrior, you might have a tan line. Make sure to check if you have one a few days before the shoot, and if you do, you can start experimenting with ways to cover it during the session. Makeup and bracelets are my go to!

If you wear glasses, they might glare! If possible, please remove the lenses, (but as a fellow glasses wearer I know this can be scary/impossible). If anything, you can take them off, or just let them glare! It's not the end of the world either way.
